Meet our helpful volunteer board!

James Arroyo-Miller
James is the board's secretary, and a food service professional with experience ranging from soul food catering to prix fixe fine dining. He dreams of a world without waste, where healthy food is the norm, farms are everywhere and scarcity is... scarce.
Jill Jacobson
Jill is a public school teacher and local activist who first became interested in food justice when she read Diet For a Small Planet and heard the author Francis Moore Lappé speak at the University of Minnesota in the early 80’s.
Devin Lavey
Devin works at the White Bear Area Food Shelf as the Mobile Market Coordinator. She can be found reading, knitting, or cooking in her free time. She also has a permaculture design certification and experience working with biodynamic agricultural practices.
Emma Dubay
Emma grew up in Vermont and came to the Midwest by way of St Olaf College, where she studied social work. She currently works in case management supporting folks with developmental disabilities in accessing community-based services. She loves to cook, care for her expanding houseplant collection, spend time with her sweet cats Willow and Basil, and continue to get to know the land and communities around Minneapolis.
