Year End Update
Increasing Access
Reducing Waste
This year, we worked to provide healthy foods to communities where access is otherwise limited. Help us finish this year strong by making a donation, ensuring we have an impactful start of the year in our community.
Interested how our year went? Let us briefly share what developments our programs saw in 2018.
Foodshare
This year the Foodshare program expanded substantially, with much more food being redistributed than in any of our previous years. Also recently, we have made an effort to provide food for people at the tent encampment in Minneapolis.
Garden
We consolidated our main garden by adding a handful of raised beds. We are excited to make use of the new raised beds all next season and increase our roots with the people in the neighborhood it serves. The garden program is mostly dormant for the winter, but will be back in the spring!
Community Meals
With the recent purchase of a food truck, the Community Meals program will be launched! We will cook and serve meals, facilitate cooking and nutrition lessons, and cater events. The program is designed to empower passionate stakeholders to take the lead in ending malnutrition and hunger in their neighborhoods, especially neighborhoods with the highest need.
People in our community experiencing economic hardship deserve to have access to healthy food. Your donation ensures that the people who need it most in our community can depend on us every day in 2019.
Thanks for your support!
In solidarity,
The workers of North Country Food Alliance
